Civitech Partners with Guerrilla Press to Launch the Civitech Studio in Chicago
We’ve always been outspoken about our mission: make democracy fairer and more equitable for all. Since we were founded, that has meant building technology and infrastructure for campaigns, candidates, and causes. Now, it also means investing in the broader ecosystem that keeps people informed, engaged, and motivated to participate. Today, we’re excited to announce a partnership that reflects exactly that.
Civitech has entered a one-year partnership with Guerrilla Press and is proud to support the launch of the Civitech Studio. This brand-new 2,400+ sq. ft. production facility in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood is equipped with four Blackmagic 4K cameras and a full production setup.
The studio will serve as the home base for Guerrilla Press’s growing slate of daily content, including live podcasts, political sketches, interviews, and original programming built around engaging civic conversation.
About Guerrilla Press
Guerrilla Press is a Chicago-based independent media company built for young progressives. Since launching in January 2026, the brand has already generated more than 1 million social media impressions, featured interviews with prominent progressive voices (including leading figures in Chicago politics), and captured official rally footage for the Indivisible Chicago Alliance at No Kings 3. That kind of traction in just a few months signals a clear appetite for civic content that’s credible without being dry, and political without being joyless.
Co-founders Nick Hausman and EJ Cameron, one of Second City Chicago’s longest-running performers, built Guerrilla Press to address the issues affecting young progressives and all Americans without taking itself too seriously. It’s a content platform where humor and storytelling meet civic substance.
Emerging Chicago comedy talents Tanner Sells and Tanner S. Sykes have also joined as regular correspondents, with Alice Gibson as Senior Producer, and Brandon Ebert as Producer.
Civic Media, Progressive Content, and the Chicago Ecosystem in 2026
Progressive media and civic engagement content is getting more advanced each day. Audiences, particularly younger voters and first-time political participants, are turning to independent media platforms, podcasts, and short-form video for the political news and commentary that shapes how they think about elections, candidates, and policy.
Chicago, with its deep tradition of political organizing, comedy, and civic culture, is a natural home for this kind of content. By supporting Guerrilla Press’s effort to produce the kind of daily, high-quality progressive content that drives real civic engagement, the Civitech Studio will help position them to become a leading voice in progressive media. For organizations working in Democratic technology, voter outreach, campaign infrastructure, and political organizing, partnerships like this one represent a new model: combining media reach with civic mission to build the informed, activated electorate that competitive elections demand.
Why Civitech Is Getting Involved
People engage with democracy when they feel seen, informed, and connected to something larger than themselves. That connection is built through media. Right now, the political media world (especially the comedy market) is flooded with right-wing dogwhistles, political echo chambers, and massive misinformation campaigns.
Guerrilla Press is doing the work of reaching younger and harder-to-engage audiences through content they actually want to consume. Supporting that work is a natural extension of what we do. After all, when more people are informed and engaged, democracy works better for everyone.
With a strong lineup of progressive guests already in the pipeline and steady growth projected throughout the partnership, we’re excited to see what the Civitech Studio can help produce.
